In Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA), we provide next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions to provide unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability. We are seeking a Deputy Systems Engineering Lead with experience leading a medium-sized multi-disciplinary team which includes systems, cyber security, reliability, and logistics engineers. This role will be focused on delivering innovative Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with the development, integration, and testing of complex systems across their entire lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include managing the system engineering content and work products, which includes developing the requirements baseline, design and integration, to ultimately perform qualification testing and delivery of the product. Under your technical leadership, the team will utilize model-based systems engineering principles and Agile development process to perform operational concept development, feasibility studies, design, development, performance modeling, and hardware/software evaluation. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field, and minimum of 8 years of work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Active Secret clearance and eligible to acquire SCI and additional SAP/SAR clearance.
  • Prior experience leading a medium-sized team of System Engineers.
  • Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test).
  • Leadership experience of a team of engineers.
  • Working experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management.
  • Familiarity or experience with Agile Systems Engineering and Model Based systems engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience interfacing with upper management; customer facing.

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance and eligible to acquire SCI and additional SAP/SAR clearance.
  • Work experience with Electronic Warfare programs.
  • Bid and proposal experience on major life cycle programs.
  • Working experience with Model based systems engineering principles with tools such as Magic Draw.
  • Previous experience as an Agile Scrum Master

Responsibilities

  • Leading a medium size team of Systems Engineers on EW related programs.
  • Managing all system engineering content and work products.
  • Drive the implementation of Model Based Systems Engineering and Agile development principles.
  • Manage Cost and Schedule responsibilities (CAM) for the systems team.
  • Manage and participate in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings.
  • Preparing and deliver technical presentations internally and with customers.
  • Monitor and report metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures.
  • Supports proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimating, and presentation activities.
