About The Position

The City of Blair is looking for a proactive and highly organized Deputy City Clerk to join our Administration team. This full-time, exempt position plays a vital role in supporting the City Clerk's Office through independent decision-making, confidential recordkeeping, and coordination of key municipal functions. Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma required; a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative, municipal government, or clerical support roles required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • A commitment to public service with friendliness, tact, and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional administrative support and customer service for City Hall operations, assisting residents, visitors, staff, and officials with accuracy and discretion.
  • Serve as acting City Clerk when designated, supporting continuity of operations and delegated Clerk functions.
  • Administer and oversee City licensing and permitting processes, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance with City requirements.
  • Prepare agendas, attend meetings, and record minutes for the Parks, Cemetery & Recreation and Airport Authority meetings, including follow-up tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate City Council and other board/committee meetings by preparing materials, publishing legal notices, maintaining official records, and tracking post-meeting action items.
