About The Position

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of higher education issues that affect the overall management of the College in order to assist the President appropriately participate in decision-making processes; provide the President with background information regarding issues and personnel pertinent to the President's decisions; assist the President with the development and coordination of agenda content and supporting documentation for meetings and activities with the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee meetings, Board committee meetings and retreats; oversee the compilation of materials, the planning and coordination of meetings, and activities related to the President's Division and institutional advancement; assist the President in the development and coordination of agenda content and supporting documentation for meetings of the Senior Administrative Team, the President's Leadership Team, business and industry representatives, and individual staff members; manage the President's office to include supervising assigned staff; review incoming correspondence and distribute to the appropriate personnel; track documents received and the individuals to whom they were forwarded; research and prepare various correspondence for the President; research and prepare oral and written presentations for the President; screen telephone calls for the President; obtain information helpful to the President in replying to Presidential inquires; review, edit, and rewrite speeches or other written and oral presentations prepared by the President; manage the President's Office, which includes: planning for all meetings, activities and appearances hosted by or involving the President; coordinating Board of Trustee functions, special events and other activities hosted by the President's Office; organizing the President's daily schedule and the incoming and outgoing documents to insure the timely completion of duties and the optimum use of the President's time; overseeing the production and preparation of all documents and materials developed in the President's Office; researching both the internal and external issues to be used by the President as background information for meetings and presentations; handling all budgeting functions for the President's Office; represent the President at meetings or events with external and internal constituencies; receive invitations and requests for meetings with the President and prioritize the schedule; provide background information and necessary documents for President's meetings; recommend ways to the President to maintain positive relationships with constituencies of the College; perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years of administrative experience in an educational or business environment, with demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in research, planning and management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with faculty, staff, students and public
  • Ability to work on own initiative with high organizational skills
  • Capable of making sound decisions
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and to work well under pressure
  • Strong computer skills.
