In support of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight across all County technology services, with a specialized responsibility for mission-critical public safety and 9-1-1 technology systems. This position is responsible for aligning County enterprise IT services with the operational needs of the Department of Public Safety (DPS), including 9-1-1 emergency communications, public safety communications infrastructure, and emergency management situational awareness systems. The Deputy CIO ensures the reliability, security, interoperability, and continuous improvement of all County technology platforms, with a particular emphasis on PSAP operations, 9-1-1 CAD systems, telecommunications, GIS, radio systems, and emergency technology ecosystems. The Deputy CIO serves as a key executive liaison between County IT and DPS leadership, ensuring that all 9-1-1 and public safety systems meet regulatory requirements, support operational excellence, and are eligible for and compliant with applicable 9-1-1 funding streams. This position acts on behalf of the CIO as assigned. This position is deemed essential and may be required to work during inclement weather, natural disaster, other emergency situations, and/or when the County offices are officially closed due to inclement weather, natural disaster, or other emergency situations.
