Job Purpose The Chief Information Officer (CIO) works with other members of the Executive Leadership Team to identify how information technology can help the company achieve its business and financial goals for a multi-site, multi state technology service provider. Provides leadership to supervisory staff leading IT teams and overall IT department. The CIO is responsible for ensuring that all business information complies with established company security policies and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in CS / MIS or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience working in technology and /or business roles within a company.
  • 7+ year previous management experience of technology specialist and applications specialist teams.
  • Experience leading supervisory staff.
  • Experience in project management and change management including knowledge of systems design and development process, requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational management.
  • Ability to create and maintain a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of database applications.
  • Knowledge of system security requirements and best practices.
  • Knowledge of information systems disaster preparedness and recovery best practices.
  • Excellent Communication skills with an ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong financial acumen, a bias for action, and the ability to drive results.
  • An outgoing, action-oriented self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work close with the GFC President/CEO and GFC Officers to serve as the primary advisor on technology trends, digital transformation, and emerging risks.
  • Analyze companys current technology infrastructure (hardware, WAN and software applications) and align it with the business strategic plans.
  • Serve as a change visionary, leveraging a strong business mindset and deep technology expertise to inspire alignment, champion organizational adoption, and lead transformative change across the enterprise.
  • Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the information system department.
  • Maintain robust cyber security incident response, vulnerability management, and identity management programs.
  • Partner with cyber security partners to defend against AI-specific threats.
  • Collaborate with other departments to introduce technology that GFC provides to customers wherever appropriate.
  • Define and execute the IT strategy by fostering strong strategic partnerships and building bridges between the IT division and the enterprise.
  • Align technology initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring collaboration across teams to drive long-term growth and shared success.
  • Spearhead the adoption of artificial intelligence and digital solutions to position the organization at the forefront of industry innovation.
  • Drive the modernization of core platformsincluding ERP, CRM and logistics systems by strategically integrating AI to optimize operations, unlock new efficiencies, and deliver superior customer experiences.
  • Ensure seamless integration of IT systems across all business functions, establishing a benchmark for technology leadership in the office technology sector.
  • Ensure information systems are positioned to recover effectively in the event of a disaster or emergency.
  • Apply best practices on disaster recovery policies and processes to ensure the business can continue to function, critical data and systems are available, and customers (both internal and external) continue to receive support.
  • Maintain a culture for the IT Department centered on driving for results and providing excellent customer service.
  • Drive continuous efficiencies and improvement in IT processes, service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Oversee technology planning and budgeting to ensure an effective and cost-efficient technology organization.
  • Ensure effective IT governance, vendor management, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications and infrastructure.
  • Develop and monitor the approved annual operating and capital budgets for the Information Systems department.
  • Oversee the communication system for the company, including network infrastructure, wide area connectivity, and telecommunications circuits and equipment.
  • Ensure that all information systems and networks operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards and legal requirements, including PCI and HIPAA.
  • Maintain ownership for the relationship with key technology partners.
  • Lead procurement, contract negotiation, and performance management for cloud, software, and hardware vendors to include ERP, CRM, Leasing and other third-party software partners.
  • Participate in vendor contract negotiations for telecommunication circuits, telecom equipment, computer equipment, and software purchases.
  • Propose hardware/software solutions to accomplish the companys business objectives.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and communication of systems documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Assess and anticipate technology projects and recommend appropriate action and resources.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional IT team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Supervise and develop members of the IT team including hiring, firing, work allocation, training, and problem resolution.
  • Conduct leadership components of the performance review process including establishing appropriate and measurable goals, reviewing progress throughout the year, documenting performance, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Autonomously make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments within area of focus.
  • Ensure that the work environment is safe, including compliance with OSHA standards and documentation.
