Leidos is actively seeking a passionate, detailed-oriented problem-solver to serve as a Deputy Chief Engineer – Mechanical Systems to support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body. The Deputy Chief Engineer – Mechanical Systems will support the Chief Engineer for several aspects of the engineering and flawless program execution to include: Balance technical risk with cost and schedule risk to ensure executable yet technically sound deliverables Provide independent oversight across all mechanical systems to ensure overall technical compliance to the Technical Data Package (TDP) Act as the independent technical authority and be responsible for the technical baseline for mechanical systems Assess and approve technical completion and compliance at major program and subsystem technical reviews Provide engineering leadership and mentoring to coordinate design, analysis, and systems engineering processes throughout development, verification, delivery, and operation Collaborate with engineering leadership to assess and carry out engineering process health and compliance with standards and procedures for product / program Represent Leidos Dynetics and the program with key customers and partners Mechanical Engineering resource and talent planning Development and mentoring of engineering staff to include providing career guidance and professional growth opportunities for high potential employees
