About The Position

Responsible for performing onsite conversions of existing CSP point of sale (POS) systems to Western Union Retail OS systems across Client locations. The Installation Technician is responsible for performing onsite conversions of existing CSP point of sale (POS) systems to Retail OS systems across Client locations. This role ensures accurate hardware installation, device replacement, PC reimaging, and functional verification in accordance with the Technical Service Note (TSN) and project standards. Technicians serve as the onsite representatives of the deployment team, working directly with store management to complete installations with minimal business disruption.ofsale (POS) systems to Western Union Retail OS systems across Client locations. Requirements

  • Experience installing or servicing POS systems, peripherals, or retail hardware.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and installation guides.
  • Familiarity with PC imaging processes and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment such as PCs, printers, and monitors.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • RELIABLE- You will be responsible for picking up, maintaining and returning customer equipment!

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Client Technology deployments or Retail OS.
  • Experience in field service, retail IT support, or hardware deployment projects.
  • Experience documenting work in enterprise reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive onsite during approved installation windows and check in with the store manager.
  • Locate, inventory, and prepare all new hardware prior to installation.
  • Follow the Technical Service Note (TSN) for:
  • Removal of legacy CSP peripherals (SREDKey card reader, Honeywell hand scanner, WUTAIO device, etc.).
  • Preparation and boxing of deinstalled hardware using the correct shipping procedures.
  • Installation of new Western Union Retail OS peripherals, including:
  • Digital signature pad (Wacom)
  • Magtek card reader (if applicable)
  • Money order printer (5680/7680)
  • USBC to USBA adapter
  • Dell Micro PC, monitor, keyboard, and mouse
  • Connect and cable all required devices according to Client standards.
  • Reimage the PC using the provided USB imaging keys and follow the “Who Am I” configuration steps.
  • Perform full post installation validation, including: installation validation, including:
  • Printer test page verification
  • System checks outlined in the TSN
  • Confirmation of successful software installation
  • Obtain store management signoff upon completion.
  • Capture required before and after photos of all work.andafter photos of all work.
  • Submit photos and installation results using the method designated by the Client Project Manager.

  • Maintain accurate records of hardware used, removed, or returned.
  • Follow all access protocols and resecure restricted areas before departure.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area; leave the space in equal or better condition than arrival.

  • Provide courteous, professional communication with store personnel and project leadership.
  • Drive independently to multiple sites following an optimized route schedule.
  • Transport installation tools, USB imaging keys, and spare peripherals.
  • Deliver deinstalled hardware to local FedEx locations within one week of removal.
