This role involves on-site installation, integration, and troubleshooting of systems at customer locations, supporting internal software validation through hardware emulation, and providing hands-on technical support during the initial go-live stages of projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server (installation, configuration, basic query writing).
  • Familiarity with RS232 protocols and serial communication troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including IP addressing, routing, and firewall basics.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (up to 60%) and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial automation or SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, ping, traceroute, Putty).
  • Basic scripting or programming knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with hardware simulation/emulation tools or environments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain software and databases (SQL Server) at customer sites.
  • Connect, configure, and troubleshoot RS232 serial devices (e.g., sensors, controllers, industrial equipment).
  • Integrate and test TCP/IP devices on customer networks, ensuring proper communication and data flow.
  • Collaborate with customer IT teams to ensure secure and stable network configurations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the field.
  • Assist in the emulation of hardware devices to support in-house validation of software features.
  • Provide technical support to clients during the initial go-live stages of projects, ensuring smooth deployment and issue resolution.
  • Document installation procedures, configurations at each site, and service activities.
  • Provide technical training and support for end users and customer staff.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements.
  • Travel to customer locations as needed, sometimes with short notice.
  • Provide Hyper-Care Level Support to recent installs
