This position is the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) retail inspection program specialist for the state-wide compliance check inspections of tobacco retail establishments in accordance with policies, protocol, and procedures set forth by the FDA, Retail Inspection Program and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). This position will coordinate program activities receiving direction and assignments from the Program Coordinator/Section Manager and FDA. In the absence of the FDA Program Coordinator, this position will act as the point of contact with FDA. This position will perform occasional inspection and training activity to train new inspection staff and evaluate and develop procedures, policies, and guidelines to align with FDA protocol including recommending modifications to program policies and procedures to meet program requirements and the terms and conditions of the FDA contract.

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
