About The Position

Job Summary: Manages sales activities in assigned retail and or mall services departments. Ensures department s are appropriately stocked attractively displayed and adequately staffed to achieve sales goals and service standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for department level execution of retail and or assigned mall services business strategies procedures and policies. Ensures department is fully stocked and merchandise is attractively displayed to include effective signing accurate price marking fact tags etc. Adheres to corporate Visual Merchandising standards. Coordinates stock replenishment with backroom and procurement personnel. Acts as stock replenishment expert. Ensures stock replenishment program for responsible departments is effectively executed. Establishes and implements an effective customer relations program. Ensures service provided meets or exceeds NES standards and customer expectations. Reviews department s merchandise stock structure makes recommendations and provides information to Store Divisional Managers Buyers etc. regarding merchandise in-stock position stock assortment product saleability local demand trends and requirements etc. Reviews daily sales reports. Recommends initiates markdowns as necessary. Provides input to Store Divisional Managers Store Managers regarding departmental promotions sales goals and budgets. Controls scheduling to ensure staffing levels and payroll expenditures are appropriate to current business conditions. Coordinates and implements departmental promotions and sales events with store operations visual merchandising and merchandise procurement associates. Provides post-promotion feedback to Buyers Store Manager etc. Supervises trains and motivates assigned sales associates. Ensures subordinate associates are aware of sales goals sales events sales incentive programs store policies etc. Keeps current regarding industry market trends for assigned departments. Conducts comparisons with other retailers to benchmark business practices. Implements best practices as feasible. Carries out policy of courtesy and service recognizing the importance of genuine obvious and active attention required in a retail organization. Exercises tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers and fellow associates in the performance of duties. Actively seeks to become knowledgeable concerning store policies and services offered in order to effectively carry out the requirements of this position. Responds to inquiries and provides assistance in a prompt and friendly manner. Performs independently under the direction of a Store Divisional Manager or Store Manager. Work is reviewed in terms of achievement of operational goals and objectives. Oversee end-to-end payroll and timekeeping operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing in ADP, PeopleSoft, and associated workforce management systems. Monitor, review, and process daily leave slips, time adjustments, and non-productive time to ensure compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements. Validate payroll data prior to bi-weekly uploads, including overtime, premium pay, leave balances, and historical edits to prevent payroll discrepancies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records related to pay changes, terminations, planned overtime, and all leave categories (e.g., FMLA, PPL, military, court, union, and administrative leave). Serve as the primary subject matter expert for payroll and timekeeping, providing guidance and support to associates, managers, and timekeepers. Lead scheduling and workforce coordination efforts in partnership with leadership to ensure adequate staffing coverage and alignment with labor forecasts. Run and analyze payroll and timekeeping exception reports; proactively resolve missing punches, unexcused absences, and system discrepancies prior to payroll close. Support district-wide payroll accuracy by training and auditing timekeepers across multiple locations, driving consistency and best practices. Collaborate closely with HR and leadership on onboarding support, Personnel Data Requests (PDRs), and payroll-related employee actions. Manage month-end payroll reporting, journal entry tracking, and reconciliation activities to support accurate financial reporting. Calculate, validate, and process commissions, incentives, and specialty pay programs in accordance with established guidelines. Review sales and financial transaction data, including overages/shortages, remote sales, and miscellaneous income, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up. Partner with department managers to investigate and resolve pay discrepancies, scheduling issues, and audit findings in a timely and professional manner. Oversee payroll-related administrative functions, including time clock management, paper checks, awards processing, and returned check resolution. Contribute to employee engagement and organizational initiatives by supporting administrative committees and cross-functional programs as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 YEARS GENERAL EXPERIENCE Experience which was gained in administrative clerical retail sales or other related work which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of selling floor operation practices and procedures skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 9 months of experience. Substitution of 1 year for 1 year in those instances where co-op experience is required of a student as part of the program study.
  • AND 1 YEAR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Progressive experience which provided background in merchandise controls inventory stock record keeping and reports exempt or non-exempt supervisory experience merchandise display and retail promotions or experience in the area of customer relations in an effort to improve sales and maintain operating cost efficiencies.
