Now, we’re looking for a dynamic Department Manager to lead our Civil Engineering team, focusing on municipal roadway, stormwater, and site development projects. Requirements

  • Education: BS in Engineering, Science, Architecture, Management, or related field (or equivalent progressive experience).
  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in consulting or a related field, including 3+ years of successful project management.
  • Licensure: Florida Professional Engineer, Geologist, or Architect registration may be required.
  • Other: Knowledge of project performance metrics; valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a department of Project Managers, Engineers, Scientists, Analysts, Designers, Technicians, and support staff.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality align with client and company expectations.
  • Foster a culture of servant leadership by coaching, mentoring, and supporting staff in career development.
  • Assign projects, balance workloads, and monitor resource needs across the department.
  • Collaborate with other Department Managers to coordinate workload-sharing and cross-sell services.
  • Drive business development efforts through proposals, client engagement, and long-term relationship building.
  • Provide technical oversight, including design review and approval of project plans.
  • Champion the Jones Edmunds Quality Program to ensure strong QA/QC processes across all projects.
  • Manage personnel activities including hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Represent the firm as a visible leader internally and externally.
