About The Position

Peraton is seeking a dynamic and strategic business leader to take ownership of a critical and growing line of business within our Defense Mission Solutions business unit. This Department Head role offers significant visibility with senior corporate leadership and the opportunity to shape strategy, drive growth, and deliver mission impact across a diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of operational excellence, business development acumen, and leadership to accelerate performance and expand our footprint. What you'll do: Responsible for the successful technical, schedule, and cost performance of multiple programs, through subordinate program/project managers, in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines. Own and grow a portfolio of programs, driving on-contract growth and securing follow-on business opportunities. Provide leadership and oversight for a department within a larger organizational unit, including supervisory and professional development responsibilities. Serve as a key interface with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, including acting as a technical liaison when required. Lead and/or support major proposal efforts, including capture strategy, solution development, and coordination with pricing and functional teams. Oversee all phases of program financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis. Monitor contract, subcontract, and funding execution to ensure alignment with financial and operational objectives. Develop and deliver program, financial, and operational reports to internal and external stakeholders. Establish and enforce quality assurance standards across all products and services. Assign resources and provide technical and operational direction to ensure successful program delivery. Maintain a proactive, results-driven approach to achieving organizational and program objectives.

Requirements

  • 16+ years of experience in government contracting, including P&L ownership and a demonstrated track record of growing a portfolio of programs year over year.
  • Experience developing and executing large capture strategies within the Department of Defense/Department of War, (DoD/DoW).
  • Experience briefing and engaging with C-level executives and General/Flag Officers.
  • Proven ability to lead teams of Program Managers across multiple programs, driving strong performance and sustained growth.
  • Demonstrated success building customer relationships and identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Must live with in commutable distance to a Washington, DC area Peraton office

Nice To Haves

  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in spectrum operations, unmanned systems, and other emerging DoD technologies.
