About The Position

Seeking a department coordinator to serve in behavioral health at South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. This professional works full time, 40 hours per week, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. There are no weekend, holiday, or on call requirements. The ideal candidate is tech savvy and creative, as they will assist with the monthly newsletter. Will need to be self-motivated to analyze the schedule and fill openings. Must have excellent time management, data collection and analysis, interpersonal communication, and process improvement skills. This position plans, organizes, and implements the non‑nursing operational functions of the Behavioral Health Department to facilitate efficient workflow, enhance unit productivity, and ensure consistent support for all staff and providers. The role promotes effective unit operations and contributes to indirect patient care by coordinating administrative processes, supporting provider scheduling, and maintaining streamlined departmental functions. Preferred candidates will have healthcare experience or training in a hospital or clinic setting within patient care, registration, or scheduling with knowledge in medical terminology. Proficient and comprehensive skills in personal computer software and applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and database (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Performs complex, diverse, and confidential administrative support duties and general office duties for respective department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to coordination and scheduling of committees, department and other scheduled activities, preparation of routine and non-routine reports, meeting minutes, memos, data collection/graphs and special assignments/projects. Provides other support to staff within the department as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of office experience is required.
  • Requires proficient and comprehensive skills in personal computer software systems and applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and databases (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience or training in a hospital or clinic setting within patient care, registration, or scheduling with knowledge in medical terminology is preferred.
