POSITION SUMMARY The Department Clerk provides clerical support for the Hospital Patient Billing (HPB) department. Duties include, but are not limited to; processes all department documents in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring quality at all times; processes mail, correspondences and supply orders quickly and accurately; responsible for ensuring work queues are performed according to department guidelines. Will assist with special projects as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: High School graduate or equivalent required. Knowledge: One year of previous experience in a clerical, medical records or healthcare business office setting required. Requires working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel & Word), prefer intermediate experience. Previous experience with scanning/imaging equipment and in quality control strongly preferred. Skills: ●Must have good written and oral communication skills, typing and telephone skills. ●Must have excellent manual dexterity ●Must possess the ability to multi-task and reprioritize workload in order to meet deadlines. ●Data entry, ten-key skills, basic filing, alphabetic, numeric and basic math skills are required. ●Ability to make reasonable independent decisions in the absence of immediate direct supervision that stay within hospital and department guidelines ●Works as a team player assisting co-workers during periods of peak workloads and short staffing A NONPROFIT HEALTHCARE PROVIDER IN EL DORADO COUNTY Marshall is a nonprofit community healthcare provider located in the heart of the Sierra Foothills.
