Join an organization which is respected and well loved by the Community we serve! Hiring a Dental Sterilization Technician - Dental Assistant position at our Healdsburg and Windsor Clinic! What you will do at AMC: The Dental Sterilization Technician/Dental Assistant is responsible for ensuring the proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of all dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards. This role supports the dental team by maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment, assisting with room setup, patient preparation, and limited chairside support.

Requirements

  • High school graduate and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred;
  • Bi-lingual Spanish and English required;
  • X-ray license preferred;
  • Current CPR certification required;
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal);
  • Familiarity with front-office procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all dental instruments are cleaned, disinfected and sterilized properly.
  • Maintain and manage the sterilization process of dental instruments and equipment.
  • Assist dental team in instrument and equipment setups.
  • Ensure the sterilization area is clean, organized and safe.
  • Monitors inventory of cleaning supplies and sterilization equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control regulations.
  • Maintains all autoclaves, Hydrim and ultrasonic machines while updating the sterilization logs as scheduled.
  • Reports any issues or malfunctions of the sterilization equipment, handpieces and dental instruments.
  • Sets up trays.
  • Properly disposes of waste and linens.
  • Assists in the maintenance of dental waterlines, all vacuum lines, traps and filters.
  • Supports the Dental Office Manager and Dental Leads with specific duties. Ex: traps, putting way incoming orders, Amal waste, etc.
  • Reviews treatment plan with patient, completes dental estimates and has patient sign after review.
  • Keep accurate count of instruments, which include X-ray sensors, handpieces, Surgical handpieces and V3 ring system rings, etc.
  • Stocks extraction gauze for treatment, patients, floss, prophy cups, fluoride varnish, monojets etc.
  • Prepares dental operatory for treatment including disinfection and placing protecting barriers after completing treatment.
  • Assists RDAs with patient flow.
  • Prepares rooms and seats patients; provides limited chairside assistance to dentists as needed; delivers oral hygiene, postoperative, or other instructions to patients as directed by the dentist or RDA; and communicates with vendors as necessary.
