About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Dental Instrument Sterilization Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safe and efficient decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of dental instruments, adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols. Your expertise will help maintain a safe environment for both staff and patients, supporting the delivery of high-quality dental care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in dental assisting or sterilization technology preferred.
• Previous experience in a dental or medical sterilization environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control standards, and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to follow strict safety and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Collect used and contaminated dental equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
• Clean instruments and supplies by removing waste matter and contaminants.
• Prepare and package decontaminated instruments for sterilization.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain sterilization equipment accurately and safely.
• Ensure sterilization processes comply with standards set by regulatory agencies such as OSHA and the CDC.
• Maintain detailed records and logs of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
• Monitor sterilization equipment performance and report any malfunctions or issues.
• Follow infection control protocols and safety practices during all phases of instrument processing.
