Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in dental Hygiene.
  • Current Dental Hygiene license.
  • Dental Anesthesia certificate.
  • 5 years’ experience in clinical dental hygiene.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Familiarity with dental software programs.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required

  • Bachelor’s degree in dental Hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • The Dental Hygienist performs dental hygiene services for adult and pediatric patients, oversees the dental software management for the dental clinic, and the dental recall system.
  • Provide clinical dental hygiene services for adult, pediatric, and special needs patients, including patient education (oral hygiene instruction, nutrition counseling, and patient/parent guidance), periodontal screenings, radiographs, prophylaxis, scaling and root planing as indicated, and sealants as treatment planned.
  • Deliver dental hygiene care to developmentally disabled adult and pediatric patients, including appropriate patient management techniques.
  • Generate monthly recall lists and assist with scheduling patients as needed to support departmental work-flow.
  • Utilize Dentrix software for dental services and assist with updates and daily functionality as needed.
  • Support the onboarding of new staff and residents in thDentrixf Dentrix software.
  • Maintain and restock oral hygiene patient education materials.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining dental hygiene instruments and supplies.
  • Support the maintenance of radiographs and radiographic equipment.
  • Provide guidance and share knowledge with residents regarding dental hygiene services when needed.
  • Participate in community outreach activities and programs with community partners.
  • Record meeting notes for monthly staff and departmental meetings.
  • Assist residents and front office staff as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may evolve over time.
