About The Position

Are you a student pursuing a career in dental hygiene and interested in working with children? Our Dental Hygiene Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a pediatric dental practice, where you'll learn to provide compassionate and effective care to young patients in a fun, friendly, and fast-paced environment. This program is ideal for students preparing to apply to dental hygiene school or for students who have completed their first year in hygiene school and are looking to build foundational skills in preventive oral care, patient education, and infection control. Interns work under the mentorship of experienced dental hygienists and assistants, with increasing responsibility as confidence and skills develop. Duration: May 20 – August 14, 2025 Orientation: Mandatory full-day orientation on May 20 Time Commitment: Interns must be available for the majority of the internship period (maximum of 5 excused absences) Training: 2–3 weeks of structured onboarding and clinical training Supervision: Daily mentorship from licensed dental hygienists, assistants, and pediatric dental professionals

  • Dependable, compassionate, and enthusiastic about learning
  • Must be available on May 20th for orientation and cannot miss more than 5 days throughout the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Pediatric Patient Care: Help prepare children for hygiene appointments, offer reassurance, and contribute to a fun and welcoming environment.
  • Clinical Support: Assist with room setup, xrays, charting, sterilization procedures and educational activities focused on teaching children about oral hygiene.
  • Infection Control: Follow strict sterilization and safety protocols to ensure a clean, compliant, and child-safe environment.
  • Office Support: Support the office with a variety of tasks including inventory, greeting patients and upholding the cleanliness of the office
