About The Position

The Dental Director will provide direct patient care while also serving as both a clinical and operational leader for the service line they oversee. They will work with the Senior Directors of Operations to support and improve practice operations. They will coach and support clinicians to achieve practice goals. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, fosters collaboration among clinicians and staff, and promotes practice efficiency and growth. The Dental Director is responsible for supporting organizational goals, mentoring team members, and ensuring compliance with all clinical and regulatory standards. Must demonstrate leadership qualities and critical thinking through self-direction, initiative, effective interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills. Must be highly focused on customer service and possess the ability to troubleshoot multifaceted problems in a systematic manner.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for presentations and developing working relationships with, providers, peers and all HealthSource team members.
  • Use of EDR and basic office software

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care
  • Participates in clinician recruiting activities
  • Supports all specialty clinicians, including onboarding new clinicians; evaluating their performance relative to job goals/requirements; and coaching and recommending additional training as necessary. This includes orienting them to their new role and expectations and culture of the organization, as well as mentoring to ease the transition
  • Partners with Senior Directors of Operations to assess current workflows in the administrative and clinical areas, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary for more efficient operations.
  • Leads specialty clinician meetings and acts as liaison between Senior Directors Operations, executive team and practices.
  • Fosters clinician and staff participation in continuous improvement activities for direct patient care, quality metrics, patient satisfaction, clinician satisfaction, coding, and others. This includes taking a lead role in quality and performance improvement initiatives related to value-based care or other similar programs, specifically through oversight of: a. Current workflows in the administrative and clinical areas, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary for more efficient operations b. Template utilization, scheduling, and patient throughput c. Resource allocation d. All performance metrics including but not limited to quality, patient experience, and access
  • Enhances HSO’s reputation by fostering ownership and personal responsibility for exceeding patient service expectations.
  • Takes a lead role with clinicians and staff relative to change management during the implementation of companywide or specialty specific new initiatives and programs
  • Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Creates a professional environment, which promotes satisfaction and pride among staff.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
