About The Position

About the Opportunity: The Dental Case Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that every West Virginia Army National Guard (WVARNG) Soldier remains medically ready to carry out both state and federal missions. This position is responsible for identifying Soldiers who do not meet dental deployment standards, coordinating necessary dental care, and supporting efforts to ensure Soldiers achieve and maintain full medical readiness.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant or Dental Technology program. (CDA or OMSAA, preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dental assistant.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • State radiology certification.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Soldiers, dental providers, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases while maintaining accurate tracking and documentation.
  • U.S. Citizenship (required for federal contract eligibility).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with military medical readiness programs or healthcare coordination.
  • Familiarity with Individual Medical Readiness (IMR), Soldier Readiness Process (SRP), or Periodic Health Assessments (PHA).

Responsibilities

  • Identify Soldiers who do not meet dental deployment standards and require follow-up care.
  • Review dental treatment plans and coordinate appropriate dental services to help Soldiers meet deployment requirements prior to mobilization.
  • Provide Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) support by identifying and tracking Soldiers who are not Fully Medically Ready (FMR) due to dental concerns.
  • Obtain and manage cases identified during Soldier Readiness Process (SRP) events at home stations or mobilization sites.
  • Monitor and track Soldiers identified as non-dentally ready through annual Periodic Health Assessments (PHA) or other readiness evaluations.
  • Coordinate and schedule dental appointments to ensure timely completion of required treatment.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Soldiers being case managed to support progress toward Full Medical Readiness.
  • Track case progress and ensure documentation and follow-up actions are completed in a timely manner.
