Requirements

  • Post-secondary certificate or degree in Dental Assisting or a related field, meeting Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) standards.
  • Active certification or licensure recognized by state and accrediting agencies, demonstrating professional competency.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in the dental field or instructional experience, with a preference for candidates who have both.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to fostering student success and engagement.
  • Ability to create a structured and supportive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and laboratory instruction in alignment with established course objectives and syllabi.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials, equipment, and learning spaces to support effective teaching.
  • Monitor student attendance, maintain accurate academic records, and submit grades in a timely manner.
  • Provide individualized tutoring and guidance to promote student success and address learning challenges.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development initiatives to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and professional learning environment conducive to student engagement and success.
  • Report any incidents, concerns, or issues promptly to the appropriate authorities.
  • Adhere strictly to institutional policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards to maintain compliance and uphold educational quality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission and objectives of the institution.
