About The Position

CGI is seeking a dynamic and growing team as a Denodo Virtualization Administrator, where you'll play a pivotal role in enabling enterprise-wide data virtualization and integration. You'll manage and optimize Denodo Platform environments to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance data delivery across diverse systems and use cases. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leading-edge data technologies in a cloud-enabled, DevSecOps-driven environment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement modern data strategies that enhance agility, scalability, and insight delivery for business users. This position can be located within any CGI office in U.S. and Preferred locations are Bloomfield, CT or Lafayette, LA. This can be performed in a hybrid model.

Requirements

  • At Least 5+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 2+ years in Denodo Platform administration and support.
  • Hands-on experience with Denodo installation, configuration, and performance tuning in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of data virtualization concepts, data integration, and distributed query optimization.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data query performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience with RDBMS systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Knowledge of data security, access control, and user provisioning practices.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix system administration, network configuration, and scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell).
  • Experience integrating Denodo with BI/Analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Denodo Certified Administrator or Denodo Certified Developer certification.
  • Experience integrating Denodo with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, and web services integration.
  • Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
  • Prior experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Denodo Platform environments, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system health, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues related to Denodo servers, VDPs, and query performance.
  • Collaborate with data architects, developers, and business analysts to ensure seamless data integration from multiple sources through Denodo's virtualization layer.
  • Manage user roles, access controls, and security policies within Denodo to ensure compliance and data protection.
  • Support metadata management, data lineage, and catalog integration efforts across the enterprise data ecosystem.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize data queries to ensure efficient data delivery and scalability.
  • Work closely with infrastructure and DevOps teams to support deployments, CI/CD integration, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Participate in requirement analysis and system design for new virtualization use cases and projects.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including environment configuration, operational procedures, and runbooks.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to developers and analysts on Denodo capabilities and best practices.
  • Contribute to automation efforts for monitoring, alerting, and backup processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution and performance optimization.
  • Stay current with evolving Denodo features and related data virtualization technologies to propose enhancements and improvements.
