About The Position

In this role, you will share your knowledge as the Rail Division's Traveling Concierge, sharing all the amazing tours and features of our land-based operations in Denali National Park.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license (not revoked or suspended) with no more than 2 moving violations.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
  • Ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handlers Card.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany a range of up to 88 guests per train car, may have up to 3 cars assigned based on scheduled shift.
  • Give suggestions for dining, entertainment, optional excursions, and the following day's itinerary.
  • Communicate with Denali area lodges regarding any special requests pertaining to the hotel, dietary, and mobility issues that may affect standard operating procedures at the lodge or with third-party vendors.
  • Effectively manage manifests to keep an accurate record of tour availability for future dates.
  • Routinely presents information for up to 88 guests at a time on a microphone.
  • Complete handwritten tour sale vouchers fully and legibly.
  • Regular entry of tours into a POS (point of sales) system.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork such as daily reports, luggage counts, and sales reports.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of all tour sales.
  • Assist with Food & Beverage operations when needed.
