Delivery Manager
About The Position
This position is for a person who enjoys being on the move, working independently, and serving as the face of Lake Geneva Country Meats to our wholesale partners. You will be responsible for ensuring that our quality meats reach their destination safely, on time, and with a friendly smile. To make this happen, you’ll work closely with our production and office teams to receive orders, load orders accurately, and keep our wholesale partners stocked with our products. We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious, and personable individual who takes pride in representing a local family business. We combine a USDA-inspected sausage kitchen and custom processing facility with a gourmet retail store. Requirements
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong sense of responsibility regarding schedules and deadlines.
- A personable attitude with a desire to be helpful and build relationships with our customers.
- A detail-oriented mindset to double-check orders and make sure the right product goes to the right account.
- A clean driving record with a valid driver's license and a history of safe driving.
- Fluently communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.
- Lift, push, and pull boxes up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently get in and out of a delivery vehicle throughout the shift.
- Spend short amounts of time in freezers that are kept at 0ºF.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous professional driving or delivery experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Lake Geneva and the surrounding SE Wisconsin/Northern Illinois area is a benefit.
Responsibilities
- Load orders assembled by you and our production team as well as delivery stock into our delivery vehicle.
- Safely drive the delivery vehicle to each wholesale account on the day's schedule and deliver their order, or check their stock, write an order, and fulfill it.
- Assist with company errands, including picking up orders from vendors.
- Assist with labeling and organizing products in our coolers to ensure they are ready for delivery.
- Keep the delivery vehicle fully fueled and at proper tire pressures, and inform management of oil changes and other maintenance needs.
