About The Position

We are looking for a talented individual to manage the Deli Department for our company. As the Deli manager, you will be able to help with the pricing and overall promotion of the deli to maximize consumer appeal, and establish relationships with vendors to enhance our product range. An excellent Deli Manager must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment. They must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles. Exceptional communication skills are also key for Deli Managers. The goal is to increase sales and profitability of business to drive sustainable growth. A qualified applicant for this position will have the skills necessary to achieve the following:

Requirements

Must demonstrate efficiency and delicacy with potentially hazardous equipment (mixers, slicers, ovens, etc.).
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

ServSafe Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service
Hire and train new staff
Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy
Apply strategic planning to determine department objectives
Monitor staff performance including performance reviews
Formulate department/unit policies and practices
Coordinate financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
Review performance data (financial, sales, and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity for the achievement of department goals
Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Communication and leadership skills
Up to date with food and beverage trends and best practices
Guest-oriented and service-minded
