About The Position

Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for a Deli Manager for our Troy location. RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively direct and supervise all functions and activities of the deli department personnel in order to achieve the sales, profit and labor goals established for the department. Direct and coordinate activities involved with production, sale and distribution of all deli products. Work closely with the cheese department to ensure optimum operations in both departments. Develop department merchandising and budget plan and department goals with the general manager. Plan product distribution and negotiate with suppliers to arrange purchase and delivery of deli products and supplies. Interview, hire, train and develop a productive team of associates including assigning work, performance appraisal, reward and disciplinary action. Become familiar with all products carried in the deli department including being fully knowledgeable in the differences (in price, taste, preparation or use) between the many varieties and types of deli items offered. Address and resolve customer and employee complaints in a quick and effective manner. Follow approved procedures for receiving product, dating, price marking and restocking cases. Check and verify department merchandise received to ensure that all items listed on vendor invoices are delivered per quality standards. Review all new products with the General Manager. Order and maintain inventory control to ensure freshness and product quality. Maintain good communications in the store and throughout the organization. Ensure favorable department image to customers by maintaining a clean, sanitary, attractive and friendly department. Comply with safety policies and procedures and ensure that all department personnel comply with safety policies and procedures. Greet customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service and/or assistance, per our company customer service standards. Motivate associates to achieve company sales and customer service goals. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous deli department management experience, required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Food Management Certification, required.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods.
