Job Purpose Employee will set up, operate, and make minor adjustments as needed to the case packer, accumulator, and palletizer. Employee will be responsible for box inventory, requisitioning of supplies, housekeeping (5S) of the area and equipment asset care. Must be able to lift 25lbs and work with minimal supervision. Acquire certification in LOTO and Case Packer Operation. Must be able to effectively trouble shoot equipment problems and drive resolution on basic operation level issues. Essential Functions & Responsibilities The Qualified Individual Must: Understand error messages to complete first step troubleshooting, basic functions and theory of operations of the accumulator, case packer, and palletizer. Capable of operating multiple/additional equipment (accumulator/ case packer/ palletizer/ Domino box labeler/ Mettler Toledo). Operator must be capable of performing minor maintenance on equipment or “fine” equipment adjustments (examples include changeovers, jams, cleaning of sensors and box code dater maintenance). Threading the box labels with correct product SKU. Responsible for the input of the correct code date using the code date equipment. Capable of maintaining an understanding of home settings, standard work and maintaining 5S in area of ownership! Complete the growl sheet correctly with tickets for completed pallets and place matrix tickets onto completed pallets. Employee will be responsible for proper disposition of reject packages and conducting online product inspection verification. Reweighing packages to ensure correct target weight and transferring the low weights and rework packages back to the primary area in a timely manner. Become LOTO certified and be aware of pinch points! Threading the pallet wrapper and placing pallet sheets into the palletizer. Understands KHMS, Perform Centerlines on equipment, Perform CIL, Update Performance boards hourly. Must report out Top losses, quality, and safety issues from previous shift and current shift in the level 1 meeting, as well as report out the win for that day. Follow escalation process, understand 5S process, 100% engagement, conduct accurate shift hand off for the next shift, understands daily problem handling process, fill out defect handling card. Must be able to troubleshoot machinery and use mechanical tools to perform basis mechanical tasks; fill out all KHMS and operational forms completely and legibly; open and document unplanned downtime in the OEE system; complete the end of shift reconciliation paperwork for their lines daily; understand and perform maintenance tasks on their lines. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required Work Environment & Schedule This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment Additionally, this role requires A minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as needed. Must have the flexibility to adjust shift schedule to work with employees on other shifts. Monday through (Work is indoors, Primary production floor is wet, Secondary locations are occasionally wet, seasonal climate). Must wear following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): (bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant safety shoes, ear plugs).
