About The Position

The HIM Deficiency Analyst is responsible for supporting the management and accuracy of patient information, auditing health records. And ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role helps maintain the integrity of the electronic health record. This position performs quantitative deficiency analysis, tracking unaddressed chart deficiencies on all inpatient and outpatient discharges ensuring completeness of medical record documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with established regulatory guidelines. This position will also ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the medical record data, while protecting and maintaining the security and confidentiality of patient data. This position will send notifications to applicable parties at designated points in time as specified by department policy. The role follows medical record compliance guidelines set by federal and state regulatory bodies, CMS, and the Joint Commission and adheres to HIPAA guidelines and maintains confidentiality of medical records. Department Specific Job Details: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (flexible) Remote position with possibility of being on site 1-2x per month

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 1-2 years HIM experience required

  • Computer and Keyboarding skills
  • Medical and non-medical language
  • Verbal and Written Communication
  • Experience navigating EPIC and/or medical record deficiency tracking

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in health information management preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • RHIT/RHIA or eligible preferred
