About The Position

In this role, you’ll train and mentor employees in the Mechanical Packaging department, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant work. Ideal candidates will have commercial or industrial mechanical experience, strong knowledge of NEC codes, and the ability to coach others. Essential Functions: 1st day- 1st week of work (2nd to 5th day) for Mechanics (This covers basic Mount + Installs) How to read our schematics (What to look for, how to preplan jobs). Proper rigging techniques for Gens/Breakers/etc... How to bolt generators down. How to make push lock hoses. How to identify Fuel in/Fuel out on generators. Connecting fuel lines. How to run wires in loom. Proper hand and power tool techniques. How to fill out QC Paperwork and ship loose. 1st week - 90 days of work (Should cover custom mount + installs) How to measure fuel/oil/ coolant lines for special instructions. How to identify different fittings, such as (JIC, Barb, NPT, Boss, etc.). Installation of Annunciators. Installation of Isolators. Installation of Fuel Filters. Installation of Fuel Polishers. How to measure for shrouds. How to measure flanges and bolt holes to identify proper hardware needed. Proper operation of forklift to mount generators on fuel tanks. Installation of exhaust kits. How to cut and crimp cables. Install breather hoses. Proper sealing of enclosures/tanks. Installation of normal vents (interior/Exterior of enclosures). Installation of Bulkheads. Installation of Condensate drains. 6 months – a year Installation of natural gas piping. Installation of Best Battery Kits. Installation of Gen/Enclosure mounted breakers. Installation of Crank case ventilation systems. Install intake/discharge plenums. Installation of numerator and Veeder root systems

Requirements

  • Good understanding of set up techniques
  • Familiar with black iron and exhaust tubing
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools, wrenches, ratchets, screw drivers, etc.
  • Comprehension of single phase and 3 phase AC systems, basic DC control systems
  • Familiar with basic electrical codes, good wiring practices
  • Pipe fitting/threading skills
  • Fluent in the use of hand tools, power tools, hydraulic cutter/crimpers
  • Ability to solve basic mathematical equations
  • Ability to interpret and/or fabricate from specifications, blueprints, or work instructions
  • Safe effective forklift operation
  • Rigging skills
