The Decision Support Analyst with the Ecosystem team is a pivotal analytical role, dedicated to empowering HCA Healthcare's Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) leaders with clear, unbiased, and actionable recommendations. Working within a framework of partnership assessments, build/buy/partner (BBP) analyses, and executive decision framing, this role plays a critical part in identifying the fastest path to value. The analyst will conduct rigorous business analysis, evaluate solutions (internal builds vs. external vendors or partnerships), clarify complex problems, and synthesize insights to drive high-impact decisions for DT&I executive, domain and shared service leaders.

  • Support Pre-Discovery Assessment: Work with stakeholders to define and clarify business problems, user needs, and use cases, ensuring alignment with DT&I objectives.
  • Quantify the potential impact and urgency of identified problems and help define the scope of potential solutions.
  • Research and analyze existing solutions, historical efforts, and related initiatives across various domains to inform new approaches.
  • Prepare concise briefs summarizing findings and recommendations to facilitate early stakeholder alignment and buy-in.
  • Assess the organizational and technical readiness for proposed solutions, providing recommendations for next steps.
  • Analyze how proposed solutions align with or impact the DT&I operating model and overall strategy.
  • Gather and prioritize detailed business and technical requirements from stakeholders, translating them into actionable specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive analyses comparing build, buy, and partner options, including their strategic advantages and disadvantages.
  • Develop detailed financial models to assess the costs, benefits, and ROI of each option, highlighting key financial implications.
  • Create and apply frameworks to objectively evaluate trade-offs between various solution attributes.
  • Analyze how potential solutions fit within HCA's existing technology ecosystem and assess integration complexities.
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities associated with each solution option.
  • Deep-dive into financial details, vendor proposals, and develop comprehensive cost models for accurate decision-making.
  • Formulate clear, data-backed recommendations with detailed justifications for chosen paths.
  • Develop visual tools (e.g., heatmaps) to compare solution options based on perceived value and feasibility.
  • Document the rationale behind key decisions, ensuring they are well-researched and defensible to executive leadership.
  • Provide clear summaries of stakeholder positions and alignment on crucial decisions.
  • Identify and analyze alternative solutions or pivot strategies in case the primary recommendation changes.
  • Propose optimal resource allocations required for successful implementation of decided strategies.
  • Perform targeted analyses to address specific DT&I strategic questions, complementing existing market and intelligence gathering efforts.
  • Transform complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and compelling presentations, dashboards, and written reports for DT&I and executive leaders.
  • Contribute to maintaining the integrity of data used for business analysis, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or a related analytical field - Required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a business analysis, analytical, or consulting role, preferably within a technology-focused division, strategic planning, or product development context - Required
  • Experience in healthcare or a complex corporate environment - Preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to clarify requirements, define business problems, perform options analysis (build/buy/partner), conduct cost-benefit analysis, and develop solution recommendations.
  • Strong capacity to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data, identifying patterns, deriving insights, and translating them into actionable recommendations.
  • Novice proficiency in data analysis or quantitative analysis, and applying these to evaluate technology investments and strategic options.
  • Familiarity with business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), or requirements management tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders across various levels and domains to gather requirements, present findings, and build consensus.
  • Proactive and inquisitive mindset, with a strong ability to identify core issues, research solutions, and propose effective strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple analytical tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
