About The Position

The Dean of Learning supports the implementation of the Inter-Lakes School District Competency Framework in grades 7-12+ through the Design Principles, Practices, and Procedures for Learning, Assessing Learner Progress, and Using Grades to Report Learner Progress under the direct supervision of the principal. The Dean of Learning provides administrative leadership and assists building principal in planning, organizing, directing, staffing and coordinating the activities of the Middle/High Schools. The Dean of Learning strategically collaborates with faculty, staff, and learners to elevate teaching methodologies, curriculum implementation, and technology integration.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Education Leadership or related program.
  • Appropriate educator license as required by the State of New Hampshire Department of Education or enrolled in a Program to obtain Principal licensure.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the field of education, including experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Such alternatives to the education and experience as specified by the Superintendent.
  • Requires strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to think critically and analyze data.
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to analyze problems and find the best solution.

Responsibilities

  • Model and promote the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders.
  • Support implementation of the minimum standards for public education in New Hampshire, standards and policies set forth by the School District, and comply with education laws.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to student performance outcomes as measured by local and state assessment measures within the schools to improve student learning.
  • Oversee and coordinate statewide and local assessment within the middle/high school (i.e. grades 7-8 NHSAS, grades 7-9 NWEA).
  • Support school-based learner-centered activities, events, and functions.
  • Model and support implementation of district-adopted technology tools in alignment with the district's design principles and in accordance with the NH Data Privacy Alliance to assure the implementation of coherent practices across the district (i.e. Student Information System, Learning Management System, NHSAS Portal, etc.).
  • Serve on district and/or school committees as assigned.
  • Attend school board meetings at request of the Superintendent.
  • Support staff development by providing feedback on instructional delivery and classroom management techniques through informal and formal supervision and evaluation of staff.
  • Participate in the recruiting, screening, recommending, training, and assigning school building staff.
  • Design, facilitate, and organize professional development opportunities (i.e. retreats, competency camp, collaborative planning blocks, faculty meetings, district extended afternoon meetings).
  • Remain current on best practices by actively networking with professional organizations and professional development (i.e. Lakes Region Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Group, Demonstrated Success).
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Coordinator on the implementation of grade reporting processes and procedures.
  • Perform 504 Case Management.
  • Complete the Crowd Manager Course and maintain active certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
