About The Position

The Dean of Graduate Studies serves as an advocate and leader for graduate
education, student success, and postdoctoral affairs at USF. Following AAU
public university models, the Dean directs graduate office services and
resources to support student achievement, oversees processes that ensure
academic program quality, and manages institutional policies in consultation
with faculty, staff, and students. In addition to academic oversight, the Dean
partners strategically and operationally in areas such as admissions and
enrollment, funding and compensation, professional development, career outcomes,
student wellness and community building, and performance measurement. The Dean
ensures that practices are consistent with university policy and best practices,
state of Florida regulations, and best practices from AAU peer institutions.

Requirements

• Strategic leadership and change management: ability to drive institution-wide transformation in graduate education and student success, partnering with and obtaining buy-in from key stakeholders across USF.
• Collaboration and shared governance: ability to lead policy and program outcomes through consultation and partnership with stakeholders including students, faculty, and university leadership across a multi-campus institution.
• Communication: demonstrated ability to communicate with and leverage input from a variety of stakeholders,
• Student-centered leadership: demonstrated advocacy for graduate students and graduate education.
• Operational and fiscal stewardship: ability to manage complex budgets and align resources to strategic priorities.
• Data fluency and accountability: ability to understand metrics, dashboards, and make data informed decisions, set performance targets, and improve outcomes.
