About The Position

The Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Cameron University is responsible for providing administrative and academic leadership in a student-centered environment. Primary Duties: Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: · Serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies · Makes recommendations on budget and curriculum as well as appointment, tenure, and promotion of faculty following standard procedures · Provides guidance and support for the College's participation in campus-wide assessment activities · Takes an active role in the recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff · Works with departments and accrediting bodies to ensure continued adherence to accreditation standards · Provides leadership to the College in working with external constituencies A more detailed list of responsibilities is available in Section 2.3.5 of the Faculty Handbook

Requirements

  • Holds a terminal degree
  • Has a record of effective teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with a tenured professor appointment
  • Has demonstrated leadership experience

Nice To Haves

  • Has a record of administrative achievement at the departmental level or higher
  • Has experience in faculty personnel management, budget management, grant writing, and fund raising
  • Has experience in working with external constituencies and advisory bodies
  • Has experience with any of the accrediting bodies associated with the College of Graduate and Professional Studies and/or the Higher Learning Commission
  • Has demonstrated leadership in program development, modification, and assessment practices
