About The Position

The Dealer Trainee will report to the Table Games Instructor. Dealer Trainee is a transitional position hired to learn the Table Games industry, starting with Blackjack and a select number of Novelty Games. All Dealer Trainees must be able to complete designated training hours and pass an audition on all learned games. All duties are to be performed according to the policies and procedures of the Mount Airy Casino Resort and the regulations of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to perform basic math quickly.
  • Must enjoy entertaining and communicating with the public.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid license as required by the PA Gaming Control Board.
  • Must have ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests and employees.
  • Ability to work long hours within a smoking environment, employee will be exposed to smoke.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts during a 24-hour period, weekends and holidays are required as needed.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts or stressful customer interactions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required by the PGCB.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required with occasional travel.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers great customer service by learning core games offered by the property in a friendly and helpful manner with an upbeat/positive attitude.
  • Learn how to demonstrate an effective working knowledge of dealing policies and gaming procedures.
  • Learn how to deal games in accordance with internal controls and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and company policy.
  • Able to learn applicable departmental dealer efficiency metrics.
  • Responsible for learning the protection and control of the game.
  • Learn how to exchange currency for gaming chips and pay or collect bets according to house rules in an accurate manner.
  • Support and always maintain property courtesy guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Presents oneself in a polished, professional, and service-minded way and encourages others to do the same.
  • Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
