About The Position

Microsoft's Deal Desk is a strategic partner to Sales, helping shape and execute complex deals with Microsoft’s largest and most strategic customers. We are actively seeking a Deal Manager to join our team in Reston, Virginia where you will balance customer needs, commercial judgment, and policy compliance to structure clear, executable agreements that drive long‑term success. Collaborating closely in a diverse and inclusive environment with customers of all sizes, the Deal Manager is empowered to design and execute customized deals and licensing models with customers to help them achieve more with Microsoft products and services. As a Deal Manager on our team, you will work in partnership with Microsoft’s sales teams and business groups to develop strategies for increasing Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics revenue and accelerating customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Marketing, or related field AND 6+ years sales and negotiation experience or related work or internship experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
  • Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Contract management experience with United States Federal, Defense, or State and Local Government preferred.
  • Software/Cloud services industry, consulting, and support experience preferred.
  • Managing Customer contract and agreement while applying sound business judgment and licensing principles.
  • Experience in sales and negotiation strategies ensuring adherence to established guidelines, policies, and legal standards.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, managing stakeholder relationships, demonstrating decision-making and critical thinking skills in a cross-functional environment, and adaptable to engagements with all levels of an organization.
  • Proven complex negotiation skills.
  • Thoughtful risk-taking, with a demonstrated growth mindset and curiosity to learn independently.
  • Demonstrated Ability to embrace AI for efficiencies.
  • Professional experience in finance, licensing, and/or contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Make empowered decisions on customer agreements using business judgment and licensing principles.
  • Work with customers to negotiate pricing, licensing terms, and deal conditions necessary to sign agreements.
  • Collaborate with sales, legal, and business groups to identify and resolve agreement issues.
  • Ensure sales and negotiation strategies adhere to established guidelines, policies, and legal standards.
  • Share best practices and strategies with internal teams to improve Microsoft’s sales capabilities
