About The Position

As a Service Engineer, you will own the operational health, compliance posture, and live‑site reliability of mission‑critical Microsoft 365 services operating across connected and air‑gapped environments. You will work across incident response, service onboarding, Copilot integrations, privacy and security remediation, and infrastructure configuration to ensure platform readiness, availability, and policy alignment. In this role, you will partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to triage incidents, drive security initiatives, maintain service reliability. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls OR equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting complex IT environments, with a strong understanding of system and service management challenges.
  • Experience operating in large distributed or air-gapped environments, with a focus on reliability, security, and compliance.
  • Ability to build consensus and influence across teams to achieve common goals.
  • Recent experience with Azure or equivalent hyperscale cloud technologies.
  • U.S. citizenship verification is required due to legal and customer requirements for this role.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including an active Top-Secret clearance with CI or FSP (if CI, willingness to upgrade to FSP) and successful completion of the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll implement high-performance solutions across teams while maintaining a quality checklist with minimal help. You’ll also monitor telemetry data and perform analyses to identify patterns that reveal errors and unexpected problems.
  • You will respond to incidents by identifying the level of impact, troubleshooting basic issues, deploying the appropriate fixes, and implementing automations to prevent recurring issues. You’ll also follow prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards.
  • You will collaborate within and across teams by proactively and systematically sharing information. You’ll also support your work with others by proactively managing dependencies.
  • You will improve the development and operations of systems, platforms, or product features by sharing insights and best practices. You’ll do this by participating in design reviews, incident drills and debriefs, and regular meetings.
