About The Position

Willamette Education Service District is accepting applications for a part-time (20 hours per week) Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist position; bilingual American Sign Language (ASL) preferred. This position requires a Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; Completion of a university training program in the education for Deaf/Hard of Hearing as required by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC), and documentation of American Sign Language competency; Oregon Teaching License with Deaf/Hard of Hearing Endorsement; General education experience preferred. Successful candidate will work as a member of the Special Education Department a nd will follow a 190-day calendar. This position will be based at the Willamette ESD Marion Center in Salem, OR and will begin August 21, 2026.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent
  • Completion of a university training program in the education for Deaf/Hard of Hearing as required by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC)
  • Documentation of American Sign Language competency
  • Oregon Teaching License with Deaf/Hard of Hearing Endorsement

Nice To Haves
