About The Position

INTECON is looking for a highly skilled Business Analyst to support DoD software development programs by eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements that drive successful mission outcomes. This role will produce high-quality process and procedural documentation, including training and instructional materials, workflow maps, guidelines, and standard operating procedures. The Business Analyst will help define and improve operational processes through metrics development, template/tool creation, and Six Sigma DMAIC-based continuous improvement efforts. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to translate mission needs into actionable requirements and measurable deliverables.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher-level degree)
  • Requirements & Analysis: 5 years of demonstrated intermediate knowledge of gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Professional Writing: 5 years of experience creating process documentation, including training/instructional information, guidelines, workflow maps, processes, and procedural documentation.
  • DoD Experience: 5 years’ experience working DoD programs.
  • DoD Software Development Support: 5 years of intermediate knowledge supporting DoD software development projects and programs.
  • Process & Metrics: 5 years of experience developing processes, tools, templates, and developing/maintaining metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement: 5 years of demonstrated experience managing Six Sigma projects using the DMAIC cycle.
  • ServiceNow: Minimum 1–2 years demonstrated knowledge utilizing ServiceNow.
  • Clearance: Top Secret
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience supporting requirements in Agile software development environments (user stories, backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies).
  • Experience with requirements modeling techniques (process mapping, use cases, functional decomposition).
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT modernization or mission systems within DoD organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business and functional requirements for DoD software development projects and programs.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements artifacts (e.g., business requirements, functional requirements, user needs, acceptance criteria) suitable for technical implementation.
  • Produce professional process documentation, including training and instructional content, guidelines, workflow maps, process flows, and procedural documentation.
  • Support DoD software development program activities by coordinating requirements, documentation, and process alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and maintain processes, tools, templates, and standardized documentation to improve consistency and delivery quality.
  • Define, develop, and maintain program/project metrics and reporting methods to measure performance, outcomes, and process effectiveness.
  • Lead and/or support Six Sigma improvement initiatives using the DMAIC cycle (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control).
  • Document current-state and future-state processes, identify gaps, and recommend actionable improvements aligned to mission and program objectives.
  • Utilize ServiceNow to support workflow tracking, requirements/task documentation, and status reporting as required.
  • Facilitate working sessions with stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve conflicts, and ensure shared understanding of scope and priorities.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, version-controlled, and aligned with program standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support change management by updating process artifacts and training materials as requirements and processes evolve.
