About the position

The position involves coordinating the configuration and maintenance of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) at the distribution center (DC) level, making recommendations for procedural and system changes. The role includes supervising the cycle count team, coordinating the reporting of cycle count results, and performing procedural audits to ensure compliance while reporting on inventory discrepancies. The essential job functions focus on overseeing the quality of DC operations to exceed customer expectations at a low cost, ensuring compliance with corporate standards, and maintaining safety standards for all team members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality of DC operations with the goal of exceeding customer expectations at a low cost of operation.
  • Coordinate WMS configurations at the DC level, including reviewing location set-up, rule sets, and item master configurations.
  • Supervise the cycle count team responsible for daily over/short and Freon cycle counts.
  • Coordinate cycle count reporting and perform random tests based on auditor's design.
  • Review daily inventory adjustments to ensure validity and pinpoint reasons for discrepancies.
  • Perform procedural audits of all areas of the DC and report results to management.
  • Coordinate and provide support for product slotting for maximum efficiency.
  • Assist with procedural documentation and make recommendations for changes.
  • Act as the on-site contact for maintenance and support of RF units, terminals, and printers.
  • Ensure compliance with company operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with the in-bound operations manager to maintain payroll figures, budgeting, and productivity.
  • Responsible for the safety of all DC team members and coordinate with the safety supervisor for concerns.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance throughout the department to maintain productivity and morale.
  • Establish annual goals with the Inbound Operations Manager and follow up on plans to accomplish them.
  • Plan and conduct monthly team member meetings.
  • Work with the Human Resources Supervisor to interview and hire prospective team members.
  • Ensure timely writing and delivery of team member evaluations.
  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and people skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of the O'Reilly supervisor training program
  • Background knowledge of O'Reilly/Ozark distribution operations
  • Previous exposure to WMS software
  • Working knowledge of PC spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Previous automotive parts warehouse and branch store experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)
  • Advanced computer skills
