DC Materials Handler - Quality Assurance

About The Position

This position involves performing a wide variety of job functions focused on maintaining inventory integrity and improving efficiencies within the distribution center. Key responsibilities include monitoring, researching, and resolving allocation issues, performing inventory transfers and adjustments, and managing location labels. The role also requires auditing outbound parcels and inbound license plates daily, reconciling items in damage locations, and processing relabel and changeover projects. Maintaining accurate dimensional data, ensuring safe weight on beams, and handling factory stock adjustments, lifts, final sweeps, and recalls are also part of the job. The individual will conduct daily cycle counts of select Freon items, perform monthly inventory of critical supply items, and cycle count each DC location at least once per trimester, including a quarterly Return Department Verification. The role assists in maintaining ship percentage with on-hand and DC shrink goals, and requires keeping work areas neat and clean, and maintaining safety standards. Experienced team members may be designated as trainers, responsible for conducting and documenting training, and communicating job duties and procedural changes to new and existing team members. Requirements

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to read and match numerical and alphabetical characters quickly and accurately

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Familiarity with auto parts and knowledge of the automotive warehouse and/or store industry
  • Working knowledge of the WMS operation systems and DC operations
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Mechanical Equipment certification
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

  • Perform order adjustments (repicks).
  • Monitor, research, and resolve allocation issues in the Problem Resolution (Orders) program.
  • Perform inventory transfers and adjustments as needed.
  • Print and apply location label requests.
  • Request repair and replacement of RF and Vocollect units.
  • Review and research various reports.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and explains large quantity on hand adjustments.
  • Perform all jobs functions associated with processing stray parts.
  • Research and correct item numbers and locations in the LogPro Quantity Correction program.
  • Audit outbound parcels and inbound license plates daily and verify results.
  • Perform daily audits and reconcile all items located in damage locations.
  • Perform all job functions associated with relabel and changeover projects which includes processing items in the "relabel" location.
  • Perform slotting jobs determined by the DC and the Slotting Task Force Leader.
  • Maintain correct rule sets and assignments.
  • Help maintain accurate dimensional data.
  • Ensure the process of safe weight on beams.
  • Perform all job functions associated with Factory Stock Adjustments, Factory Stock Lifts, Final Sweeps and Recalls.
  • Perform daily cycle counts of select Freon item numbers.
  • Perform a monthly inventory of critical supply items.
  • Cycle count each DC location at least once per trimester and perform a Return Department Verification each quarter.
  • Assist in maintaining ship percentage with on hand and DC shrink goals.
  • Keep all work areas neat and clean, including cleanup of any spills that occur while performing job duties.
  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
  • As a trainer, take ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete.
  • Explain specific job duties/functions to help ensure success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
  • All other duties as assigned.
