About The Position

The Learning Experience – Dedham is hiring a dependable Daycare Prep Cook / Childcare Kitchen Assistant to support our preschool and childcare meal program. This role is ideal for someone with experience in food preparation, school kitchens, daycare kitchens, or cafeteria settings who enjoys working in a child-focused environment.

You’ll play an important role in helping provide healthy, safe, and well-prepared meals to young children in our daycare and preschool.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Food Handler Certificate required or willingness to obtain
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a prep cook, daycare cook, school cook, kitchen assistant, or cafeteria worker preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures
• Track and manage food allergies and communicate dietary needs with staff
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and inspection-ready
• Assist with inventory, food ordering, and basic kitchen records
• Support smooth mealtime operations throughout the center
• Follow all Massachusetts health department and EEC guidelines
