About The Position

At The Goddard School of South Loop, we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can explore and develop their creative talents. We offer a variety of enrichment programs to complement our high-quality childcare services, including music, dance, and theatre classes designed to foster creativity, confidence, and social skills. We are seeking a passionate and energetic Music, Dance, and Theatre Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a strong background in performing arts. This role involves creating and implementing engaging curriculum for children aged [specific age range, e.g., 2-5 years old] to introduce them to the joy of music, dance, and theatre in a fun and supportive environment.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music, Dance, Theatre, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience teaching music, dance, and/or theatre to young children. Experience in a daycare or early childhood education setting is a plus.
Skills: Strong knowledge of music, dance, and theatre techniques. Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Background check required.
Enthusiastic and creative with a genuine passion for working with young children.
Patient, nurturing, and able to manage a classroom effectively.
Flexible and adaptable to the needs of individual children and the group as a whole.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Development: Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans for music, dance, and theatre activities. Tailor lessons to meet the developmental needs and interests of each age group.
Instruction: Teach and lead daily classes, including music, dance, and theatre sessions. Utilize various teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure active participation.
Engagement: Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression. Foster a love for the arts through interactive and hands-on activities.
Assessment: Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback and support to enhance their skills and confidence.
Collaboration: Work closely with other daycare staff to integrate arts programming with other areas of the curriculum. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall development of the daycare’s programs.
Annual Showcase: Lead and Ability to showcase Childrens' skills through performances to families in an annual show.
Supporting Teacher: Acting as supporting teacher in classrooms as and when needed by the school.
Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and participation in the arts programs.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe and secure environment for all children. Follow all daycare policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
