As a Day Habilitation Aide II, you'll provide active treatment, hands‑on teaching, and meaningful support to individuals with severe to profound developmental disabilities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or a bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1 year of experience working with severe to profound developmental disabled individuals, preferably in a habilitation/vocational setting
  • Certified (or able to maintain certification) in CPR, First Aid, CPI, and safe physical intervention procedures
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of one year with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to maintain and conduct functional life skill, behavioral, and therapeutic programs
  • Ability to collect data and maintain records as established within the day program
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective during high‑stress or emotionally charged situations
  • Capable of hearing and responding to alarms, phones, and verbal communication at varying distances
  • Physical ability to lift 100+ pounds with assistance or equipment multiple times per shift
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and reach overhead repeatedly during shifts
  • Physical ability to walk or run alongside individuals for extended periods and support those with mobility impairments

Responsibilities

  • Providing skilled teaching, support, and evaluations tied to habilitation goals
  • Assisting with crisis assessment, prevention, and intervention (CPI training provided/maintained)
  • Supporting individuals during pool and gym activities
  • Delivering high‑quality care backed by at least one year of experience working with individuals with severe to profound developmental disabilities
