About The Position

The Day Camp Program Aid is responsible for assisting in the facilitation and monitoring of recreational activities within the Day Camp programs. This role involves supervising children, providing homework tutoring, and transporting patrons to and from various Day Camp programs and events. Additionally, the Program Aid assists with the general maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds. Key duties include leading and participating in organized group games, encouraging good sportsmanship, and performing daily chores such as preparing snacks, setting up homework supplies, and ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the Community Center.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Six months’ experience coaching and supervising athletic events and experience maintaining grounds OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Valid State Drivers' License

Responsibilities

Assists in facilitating and monitoring assigned recreational activities of the Day Camp programs
Supervises and provides homework tutoring
Transports patrons to and from the Day Camp programs & events
Assists in maintaining facilities, equipment, and grounds
Supervises and participates in organized group games amongst children
Leads and motivates children to exhibit good sportsmanship
Assists in fulfilling chores such as preparing the daily snack, setting up homework supplies, maintaining the Community Center in good condition, and cleaning up at the end of the day
Maintains the general cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the assigned building area
Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director
Performs other related work as required
