About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising, planning, scheduling, and monitoring the planning and delivery of program activities and events. The director will assist in managing the overall camp operation at the direction of the Corps Officer. This role involves supervising all programs conducted at the day camp through subordinate specialists for various programs such as aquatic/lakefront activities, nature, arts & crafts, outdoor skills/camping, and audio/visual. The director is also tasked with designing and delivering program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Driver's License
• CPR and First Aid Certification

Nice To Haves

• Two years of progressively responsible experience administering and developing youth programs
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, schedules, and monitors the planning and delivery of program activities and events.
• Assist in managing the overall camp operation at the direction of the Corps Officer.
• Supervises all programs conducted at the day camp through subordinate specialists for various programs such as aquatic/lakefront activities, nature, arts & crafts, outdoor skills/camping, and audio/visual.
• Design and deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities.
• Coordinates the weekly schedule of events with Program Aides and ensures that it is conducive to a pleasant experience for the campers.
• Counsel staff and campers in conflict resolution; keep the Corps Officer abreast of conflicts affecting daily operations.
• Builds and maintains effective working relationships with campers, staff, and key personnel to facilitate a smooth camp operation.
