About The Position

Allied Consultants, Inc is an Austin-based firm with over 34 years of experience delivering technical and business professionals to Texas State Agencies. They are seeking an experienced Database Architect to join a high-impact technical services team. The Database Architect will serve as a technical advisor, supporting the agency's initiative to modernize to a new case management system. This role involves working with the client's technology and program divisions to assist with data architecture and solution design for the transition. The Database Architect will design, develop, and maintain complex data models for child welfare data initiatives, requiring expertise in data modeling, database design, and data governance to ensure accurate and efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing. The position involves working with cross-functional teams and external vendors to logically model data flow between agency systems. The ideal candidate should have experience in child welfare government data systems, relational and non-relational databases, and implementing data architecture best practices. The activities must align with client’s compliance, federal and state regulations, and the goal of providing uninterrupted services to children and families. Data architecture and management services are needed for data designing, modeling, and cleansing efforts for the new system.

Requirements

  • 7 years experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database design
  • 7 years experience developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • 7 years experience with enterprise level data on prem and cloud projects and initiatives leveraging data best practices according to the industry standards
  • 7 years experience designing and developing legacy modernization to cloud solutions
  • 7 years excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • 7 years proficiency in Oracle and Cloud data solutions
  • 4 years ability to implement data governance frameworks and ensure data quality
  • 4 years knowledge of ETL processes and data integration methodologies
  • 4 years experience documenting requirements for IT and business solutions that will meet program and user needs
  • 4 years experience working in cross-functional teams with business analysts, developers, and data engineers
  • 4 years experience working with sensitive data in government sector
  • 2 years experience with child welfare case management systems and data

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical advisor supporting the agency’s initiative with preparation to modernize to a new case management system
  • Work with client's technology and program divisions to assist with data architecture and solution design for transition to the new case management system
  • Work with and assist client’s technology, data and program teams to support review of processes, policies, and practice
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex data models that support child welfare data initiatives
  • Ensure accurate and efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing
  • Work with cross functional teams and external vendors to logically model the flow of data between agency systems
  • Align activities with client’s compliance and federal and state regulations and its goal of providing uninterrupted services to the children and families it serves
  • Support data designing, modeling and cleansing efforts for the new system
