Works under minimal supervision to coordinate and maintain one or more database systems, either mainframe or PC-based, and to ensure accuracy and integrity of data stored in systems. A multi-year Database analyst position is available in the Department of Neurology and the Clinical Informatics Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the database analyst will act as a critical liaison and honest data broker between the NT-ADRC research teams and the research data at the point of data capture to the point of data products. This individual will possess a comprehensive understanding of the data models to guide the research teams in best practices in data collection while serving as an honest data broker to extract data and build data products (views, reports, exports) of the NT-ADRC Data Commons. This individual will collaboratively contribute to research data structure design, data capture development, as well as documentation and analysis of the NT-ADRC Data Commons resource designing and developing data products to meet the needs of the NT-ADRC and the research teams. Work requires programming skills using database software such as REDCap, MS Access, Oracle and SQL Server. Work requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Work requires skill in data management and analysis using software such as STATA, SAS, and SPSS. Work requires excellent documentation, organization, and planning skills.
