Requirements

• Hands‑on DBA experience with Oracle and SQL Server
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and MariaDB
• Strong experience with backup/recovery, performance tuning, and patching
• Scripting experience with KornShell and PowerShell
• Familiarity with ServiceNow for ticket and request management
• Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non‑technical teams
• Experience working in regulated or operational environments
• Bachelor’s degree in technology, Science, Business, or related field OR equivalent professional experience (typically 8+ years)
• Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle certifications (OCP/OCA) preferred

Nice To Haves

• Experience in utility, energy, or SCADA environments
• Knowledge of Oracle ASM, RAC, or Data Guard
• SQL Server AlwaysOn, clustering, replication, or log shipping
• Experience with major database version upgrades
• Exposure to automation and monitoring tools

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB databases across production and non‑production environments
• Perform database builds, patching, upgrades, and configuration activities
• Execute backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies to ensure system resilience
• Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for high‑availability environments
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using KornShell (Unix/Linux) and PowerShell (Windows)
• Monitor systems, respond to alerts, and resolve incidents through ServiceNow
• Participate in an on‑call rotation (every 4 weeks, 7‑day coverage)
• Collaborate closely with application teams, system administrators, and project stakeholders
• Support ongoing initiatives such as ADMS upgrades and capital infrastructure projects
