About The Position

The Database Administrator will provide database development and administration in an Agile development environment as part of an integrated contractor-government team developing weapons system software and naval information system. Ideal candidate will be experienced with Oracle patching, restoration, disaster recovery, and auditing. Limited Remote work. Must live within commutable distance to Dahlgren, VA.

Requirements

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Understand and be able to perform tasking as a technical resource in a Database Administrations team
Serve as a point of contact for DB design
Work with Oracle utilities
Create table spaces for data storage, setup of database objects (i.e., tables, indexes, triggers, stored procedures, views)
Analyze data sets to detect data patterns/trends with the end goal of improving DB operations
Analyze database to improve efficiency and functionality, then make the appropriate adjustments as necessary to optimize the DB
Set up access control measures

Nice To Haves

Experience understanding business processes and mapping those processes to SQL code
Experience troubleshooting customer reported issues through code and/or data analysis
Experience reading product specifications and implementing those specifications using SQL and UNIX scripting
