About The Position

This position will work under the direction of the Database Administrator II
and is responsible for the implementation, revision and maintenance of SQL
databases.  Implements enterprise RDBMS security standards.  Must also ensure
accuracy of data, monitor disk space usage, monitor SQL system
performance, assist programmers in writing efficient SQL queries and assist in
file and database conversions.

Requirements

• Three (3) years’ experience in computer related field of which one (1) year of professional level experience in the analysis, design or programming of business information systems utilizing database management systems; AND
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a computer science, or a closely related field; OR
• An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
• PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with large scale relational databases i.e., Oracle, Informix, DB2, and /or Microsoft SQL Server experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists Database Administrators with database administration duties such as creating/maintaining Stored Procedures, views and indexes.
• Provides database backups, restores, and database refreshes.
• Assists Database Administrators with upgrade, migrations and conversion of databases and software.
• Monitors and administers basic RDMBS security such as adding/removing users and changing passwords.
• Works with support tools including database utilities, data dictionaries, and ad hoc query tools under the direction of the Database Administrator II.
• Writes and assists programmers with basic SQL statements and extraction, transformation, and loading solutions.
• Installs, configures, and administration of reporting tools.
• Assists programming staff in questions relating to relational databases.
• Assist Database Administrators in monitoring database performance.
• Monitors disk space usage.
• Execute software package upgrades for customers.
• Works with database vendor to correct malfunctions.
• Execute SQL scripts for data modification, monitor SQL jobs, and provide data transfer services to customers.
• Performs other related duties as required or directed.
